About Robert D. Bond

Bob Bond is a Houston estate planning attorney and Certified Public Accountant. His practice is devoted to estate planning, probate and related legal documents. He grew up in Dallas and graduated from Southern Methodist University with a B.A. in Economics. He served in the U.S. Army as an Infantry Officer. Lieutenant Colonel Bond retired after 20 years of distinguished service that included positions as Executive Officer for a 550-man Armor Battalion, the Training Officer for the 18,000 soldiers of the 2nd Infantry Division in Korea, and the Inspector General for the Montana National Guard.

During his military career, he earned a Masters Degree in Accounting and passed the CPA Examination. After his retirement, he returned to Texas to go to law school and put down roots. At St. Mary's Law School in San Antonio, he was a member of Phi Delta Phi (the national honor society for law students), the Board of Advocates, he participated in numerous mock trials, and was selected for Who's Who Among American Law Students. Immediately after law school, he worked for Arthur Andersen & Company where he assisted clients with personal financial planning and tax planning. He then worked for Smith-Moore & Associates, where he worked in the area of estate planning and asset protection.

He believes that estate planning and is one of the most interesting and civilized parts of the law. The vast majority of Americans have done no estate planning. Confusion and misinformation rule the day. He believes that he can be of service to others by educating the public about the benefits of estate planning and helping clients plan for their families and loved ones. Likewise, seniors have no idea that they have a need for Medicaid estate planning. The Texas Health and Human Services Commission are not allowed to give legal and financial advice with regards to qualification. Many spend-down needlessly because they don’t understand the rules. Bob "a retired army officer" recognizes the need to help our service men and woman, thus he seeks to help our war time veterans who need financial help when facing long-term care.

About Jason R. Hanna

Jason Hanna joined the practice in 2014 to concentrate on estate planning and elder law issues. He graduated magna cum laude from South Texas College of Law where he was a member of the South Texas Law Review and an award-winning advocate for South Texas’s nationally renowned advocacy program. He was recognized on the Dean’s Honor List every semester he attended law school, earning numerous awards, scholarships, and accolades.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Hanna interned in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas, the Court of Appeals for the First District of Texas, and the Hays County District Attorney’s Office. Like Mr. Bond, Mr. Hanna also proudly served his nation in the U.S. Armed Services. As an enlisted Airman in the U.S. Air Force, Mr. Hanna served with distinction in Afghanistan in 2005 and 2006. After his military career, Mr. Hanna earned a Bachelor of Science in Applied Sociology from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas, graduating summa cum laude with a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Continuing the habits he learned during his military career, Mr. Hanna continues to serve his community. He recognizes the difficult situations and decisions his clients face when planning their estate or planning for their loved one’s long term care. Mr. Hanna is passionate about helping others to understand the law and the protections it provides them.

About the Staff

We are gearing up for the decades ahead, the law firm is built to last, Jeff Green has been witht he firm for over 10 years, Stephanie Searcy has been with the firm for 19 years, Cathy Durrett has been with the firm for more than 15 years, and Leslie Berry for more than 5 years, they play a critical role in assisting Attorneys Bond and Hanna with fact gathering, document preparation, implementation, and financial analysis. In addition, they coordinate with the local courts, state Medicaid Eligibility Workers and VA personnel. We take pride in our people and their abilities to assist our clients.
